HISTORY

The story of Lafayette Jewelers began in 1970, when Eva and Ison Fontenot opened Hallmark Jewelers in Northgate Mall. For 43 years, Eva and Ison became a beloved fixture in the Acadiana community, building lasting relationships with generations of customers before retiring in 2013.
Wanting to carry on the legacy they had created, Mike Calcote, who had served as the jeweler for Hallmark Jewelers, opened what would eventually become Lafayette Jewelers. For more than a decade, Mike continued the tradition of quality craftsmanship and personalized service, working with customers until his retirement in 2025.
Today, that legacy continues with Angela and Graham Beduze, who proudly own and operate Lafayette Jewelers. Angela spent nine years working alongside Mike, learning the business and building relationships with the same customers who had come to know and trust him. In 2025, Angela officially purchased the business from Mike, allowing her to continue the tradition that began more than 50 years ago.
Together with their team, Virginia, Adam, Adriane, and Evelyn, Angela and Graham are committed to serving the Acadiana community with the same warmth, personal attention, and exceptional craftsmanship that have defined the business for generations.
Whether it is a treasured family heirloom, a custom piece, a repair, or something new to celebrate a special moment, every piece that comes through the doors of Lafayette Jewelers is treated with care and attention to detail.
More than jewelry, we believe in the relationships behind every piece, and we are honored to be a part of your story.
